Being made of cast pewter, I was worried that they might be kinda fragile or flimsy. Liberty Tabletop surpasses expectations once again.
They have nice, thick handles. Sturdy and with a nice heft to them (heft, not heavy). They’re cast in one piece, so no worrying about a rivet that’ll fall out or glue that’ll unstick. I guess I was worried because I’ve used pewter things in the past that were flimsy. The particular thing I’m thinking of was made in China; I wonder if there’s a correlation there? Still, I would like to see a stainless steel version of these spoons. Pewter is a soft metal. Not soft enough to be a problem in the immediate, but maybe over the decades damage could accumulate. Measuring Spoons made of the same material and to the same quality standards as the flatware, would be borderline invincible.
